During that period our view of Manichaeism and subsequently on the Manichaean bishop, has changed. In the last hundred years Faustus and his work have received some significant scholarly attention. This work has been preserved, because Augustine cited it in its entirety in his Contra Faustum Manichaeum. That same Faustus published a work, the Capitula in which he discussed some exegetical controversies. Somehow Augustine became disappointed with the intellectual explanations Faustus provided for some of Manichaeism’s fabulous doctrines and thereby with Manichaeism as a religion. more According to Augustine’s own Confessiones, the Manichaean bishop Faustus of Milevis played a significant role in his apostasy from Manichaeism. This paper analyses the didactic activities and sources provided b.Īccording to Augustine’s own Confessiones, the Manichaean bishop Faustus of Milevis played a sign. The EVE-materials could help teachers in secondary education to study values together with their students. Recently, value education, especially in the context of citizenship education, has received more attention in the Dutch curriculum as a whole and the RE-curriculum in particular. However, no RE-teachers were involved in the EVE-project. The EVE-project envisioned the materials to be also used by teachers of religious education (RE), since the materials discuss topics that are traditionally addressed in RE-classes. They were developed in such a manner that would allow teachers to apply them directly in their own classes. These materials were made available for free online. The European Value Education (EVE)-project therefore developed educational materials that would help secondary teachers to discuss these values in schools. more European students and teachers both seem to lack a precise knowledge of European Values. The second revolves around the question what constitutes a workable 'framework of knowledge' in religious education, a framework that I try to base more on lived religion than on classical theological foundations.Įuropean students and teachers both seem to lack a precise knowledge of European Values. The first concerns the way in which students construct narratives of continuity in change in history and how to improve them. And through this approach we might easier engage in dialogue.Currently I am working on two didactical subjects. In stead of debating who is right, we come to understand that in most cases our not-knowing allows us te have an open mind to other constructs. Understanding the unavoidable constructive nature of all our knowledge, might open us up to other constructions. 'what truly happend in the past' and ''what other religious really believe') and more as a inquisitive approach of constructing and communicating meaning. For me the school subjects of 'history' and 'religious education' should therefore be less understood as communication of the true 'facts' (i.e. In my work I approach both as a mode of hermeneutic understanding. As a lecturer, my main field of expertise is what one might call historical and religious reasoning. For me, as a zen buddhist and as an historian and religious sholar, serving others is both to engage them in 'not-knowing' or to train our 'beginners-mind' and to develop a trust that every moment possesses enough to live a fulfilled life. Additional information regarding when apparel with these new marks will be available will be communicated in the near future. As Roshi Bernie Glassman once stated, serving others is a valuable way of zen practice. The new font, which includes alphabetical and numerical options, will be gradually adopted over the course of the 2018-19 athletic year. Research done for the brand positioning more clearly identified the traits of a Wolfpack to be incorporated into future uniform and branding campaigns, such as wolves' ferocity in attacking with their fangs, an element factored into the font design. It provides a modern take with noticeable touches such as fangs within the lettering and numbers. The Wolfpack Font will be exclusive to NC State Athletics and is inspired by the University family of fonts used by NC State University. The Wolfpack Font was used to create new "NC State" and "Wolfpack" word marks. The brand position included the development of a new proprietary and customized font, the "Wolfpack Font" which will be used on team uniforms, within NC State Athletics facilities, and on the majority of marketing and branding collateral. "I appreciate the good work done by our creative team and adidas to develop a unique font and word marks for use by NC State Athletics on uniforms and in key branding and strategic communications areas," said NC State Director of Athletics Debbie Yow. With those concepts in mind, NC State Athletics announces additions to its official Athletics marks, the result of a collaborative and comprehensive brand position process with apparel partner adidas.
